April 2025 Scholarship Opportunities: Your Path to Funding Your Legal Dreams

The cost of law school can be intimidating, but there are plenty of scholarships available to help ease the financial load. While some deadlines may have already passed, new scholarship opportunities are now open and waiting for your application. At Barrier Breakers®, Inc., we’re dedicated to providing resources and services that help students navigate the law school journey, including offering financial support to make tuition more manageable.

There are numerous scholarships available for both prospective and current law students to help cover tuition costs. The more scholarships you apply for, the better your chances of receiving assistance. To help you get started, we’ve curated a list of scholarships offering financial support as of April 2025.


  1. Han C. Choi Scholarship: The NAPABA Law Foundation, in partnership with the Choi Family, has established the Han C. Choi Scholarship in memory of Han C. Choi—a NAPABA Trailblazer, respected mentor, and inspiring leader known for his resilience and strength in overcoming adversity. The $5,000 scholarship supports a 1L or 2L law student who demonstrates academic excellence, leadership, community service, and a commitment to mentoring others, as well as an interest in civic issues impacting the AAPI community. Deadline to submit April 18th.

  2. United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation Scholarships: The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) offers scholarships of up to $15,000 to support students pursuing careers in Geospatial Intelligence. These scholarships are available to students at all academic levels—including high school seniors, undergraduates, graduate students, and doctoral candidates. USGIF also collaborates with member organizations to offer sponsored scholarships tailored to specific goals and areas of interest. Applicants must submit by April 18th

  3. OCWLA Diversity Bar Stipend Award: The OCWLA Foundation is awarding a $1,000 Diversity Stipend to a recent law school graduate who identifies with a diverse background—whether through cultural or ethnic community, sexual or gender identity, veteran status, or disability. Applicants should demonstrate achievement and contributions in scholarship, community service, and the advancement of diversity or diversity-related issues. Financial need and a connection to Orange County, California will also be considered. Applications are due April 20th

  4. COMTO North Texas Scholarship: COMTO North Texas is offering scholarships to minority high school seniors from the Dallas/Fort Worth area who are pursuing careers in the transportation industry and have at least a 2.5 GPA. For 2025, scholarship amounts include one award of $5,000, two awards of $3,000, and two awards of $2,500, with additional scholarships ranging from $500 to $2,500 also available. Submit by April 25th.

  5. Law Office of Jae Lee Immigrant Student Scholarship: The Law Office of Jae Lee is offering a $1,000 scholarship to support immigrant students pursuing higher education. Applicants must be first- or second-generation immigrants living in the U.S., come from a low-income household (under $50,000/year), be currently enrolled in or accepted to a college or graduate program, and have a GPA of 4.0 or higher from their most recent academic semester. Deadline to submit an application is April 30th.

  6. Scholarship for US/Algerian and US/Palestinian Community Members: This $2,000 scholarship supports undergraduate or graduate students who are first or second-generation Algerian-American or Palestinian-American immigrants. Applicants must be studying fields such as journalism, communication, media, international law, government, international relations, political science, global leadership, teaching, civil society, or related areas. The scholarship encourages students dedicated to creating change and working toward peace, justice, and dignity. To apply, share how your heritage and experiences have shaped your goals and your plans for making a positive impact in the world. Submit an application by April 30th.

  7. American Bar Association-LGBT Public Interest Scholarship: The ABA LGBT Public Interest Scholarship awards multiple scholarships of up to $5,000 each to support law students dedicated to promoting the civil and human rights of LGBTQ+ individuals. Scholarships are open to first, second, or third-year law students, or recent law graduates studying for the Bar, who are either LGBTQ+ themselves or work in LGBTQ+ public interest spaces. Eligible public interest work includes roles with community organizations, policy work, academic research, or any other work that advances the rights of LGBTQ+ persons and promotes the rule of law. Scholarships are intended for use during Summer/Fall 2025. April 30th is the deadline to submit.
