Financial Support Opportunities: Scholarships to Apply to in January 2025
The cost of law school can be intimidating, and the financial burden may feel overwhelming for many prospective students. However, there are numerous scholarship opportunities designed to help lighten this load. While some scholarship deadlines may have already passed, the new year brings a fresh wave of opportunities to apply. At Barrier Breakers®, Inc., we are committed to assisting students on their journey to law school by offering resources and services that help secure financial aid and reduce financial stress.
Several organizations provide scholarships to support both future and current law students with their tuition expenses. We've put together a list of scholarships that are available starting January 2025.
The Health & Nutrition Coaching Scholarship: In consideration of the heavy workload and academic pressures law students face, Top Nutrition Coaching is offering $1,000 scholarships to 6 individuals, awarding a total of $6000 to help maintain well being as well as a healthy lifestyle for law students. Applicants must submit a short essay response by January 1 2025.
The Bihm Law Firm, LLC Conflict Conqueror Scholarship: The Bihm Law Firm, LLC is giving out an opportunity to win $1,000 to assist higher education. Requirements to apply include an essay of 500 words and academic transcript as well as proof of enrollment. Deadline is January 8 2025.
Cooley US Diversity Fellowship: This fellowship is a great way to help with your law education as it not only assists you with an award of $50,000 but also contributes to a learning program of working at a firm. Applicants must have demonstrated leadership skills, community service involvement and great academic performance. Submit application by January 10 2025.
Justice Hollis G. Best Scholarship: An award of $2,000 is offered in honor of the late Justice Hollis G. Best to promote and support law students. To apply to this scholarship, you must have completed at least 1 year of law school. All documents and completed applications must be received by January 15 2025.
2025 First Amendment Scholars - Law Student Essay Competition: There will be multiple awards offered by Freedom From Religion foundation through this competition. With a total of $9,500 being awarded, only the top 3 winners will be the recipients with a change of honorable mentions! Must write an essay following a prompt and should be no longer than 1,500 words. Application accepted through January 27 2025.
Walter Clark Legal Group 2025 American Public Service Scholarship: To assist with aspiring public servants, Walter Clark Legal Group is offering $1,000 to two individuals. This scholarship aims to encourage more public service careers to make an impact in the community. A 750-1,000 word essay is required to submit. Deadline is January 30 2025.
2025 Sterne Kessler IP Law Writing Competition: There will be multiple winners where 1st place will earn $10,000, 2nd place will get $5,000 and 3rd place will receive $2,500. To participate, students should write a two-part essay where Part 1 is less than 300 words and Part 2 is 400-800 words. Submissions are due January 31 2025.
