The Barrier Breakers® First-Gen Student Success Sponsorship Program is designed to engage colleges in supporting first-gen students beyond admissions.

At Barrier Breakers®, we believe that first-generation college students deserve more than just access to higher education—they deserve the resources, mentorship, and support needed to thrive, graduate, and build successful careers. Many first-gen students struggle with retention and career readiness. Our program bridges these gaps by providing personalized mentorship, internship guidance, and career coaching throughout their college journey.

Many of the students we already serve attend colleges like yours, and we invite your institution to partner with us to ensure they—and thousands of other first-gen students—receive ongoing guidance throughout their college journey.

Why partner with us?

Many colleges focus on first-gen recruitment, but retention and student success are the bigger challenges. Sponsoring this program allows institutions to:

  • Boost First-Gen Retention & Graduation Rates – Ensure your students have the support they need to persist and succeed.

  • Showcase Your Commitment to First-Gen Success – Be recognized as a leader in supporting first-gen students beyond admissions.

  • Provide Direct Mentorship & Career Support – Help your students access vital coaching, internship preparation, and networking opportunities.

Our newly launched Break into College podcast provides free resources to first-generation students to support them in their education.

Join us in supporting our students as they step into their future.

Join us in helping first-generation students not only access higher education but succeed all the way through graduation and into their professional careers.

It costs Barrier Breakers® $100 per year per student to provide semester check-ins, resources, and ongoing mentorship to our students. Currently, Barrier Breakers has hundreds of students we support through our Wellness and Outreach Program. Your support makes this possible.
