Financial Aid: Scholarships You Can Apply for in September 2024

Law school can be costly, and the expense might seem overwhelming to prospective students. However, there are numerous scholarship opportunities available to help alleviate this financial burden. While many scholarships may have already passed their deadlines, there are still new ones opening up that you can apply for. At Barrier Breakers®, Inc., we are committed to supporting students on their path to law school by providing resources and services to help find financial aid and reduce financial stress.

Various organizations offer scholarships to support both future and current law students with their tuition fees. The more scholarships you apply for, the better your chances of receiving financial assistance. To assist you in this process, we've put together a list of scholarships available as of September 2024.


  1. NAPABA Law Foundation Scholarships: The NLF offers a few scholarship opportunities to outstanding law students who have demonstrated great leadership in the Asian Pacific American community. This includes the NFL Presidential Scholarships that offers two outstanding recipients a $7,500 award, The Low Family Scholarship that offers $2,500 to one student and LimNexus Scholarship who is also awarding $2,500 to fund for school. Applications are due September 4

  2. Salvi & Maher, LLP Scholarship: Salivi & Maher LLP is awarding a prospective law student $1000 to support their educational journey. You must be attending college for Fall 2024 and submit a video of 5 minutes or less, and an essay of a prompt. Submissions are due September 9.

  3. Theodore Gordon Flyfishers Founders Fund Scholarship: In efforts to support the environment, Theodore Gordon Flyfishers funds a scholarship for an aspiring lawyer in law school who is interested in or focuses their studies on any type of environmental studies. Applicants must be attending law school in Fall 2024, at least a 3.5 GPA and submit three letters of recommendation as well as an essay by September 15.

  4. Andrew Cores Family Law Group Future Lawyers Scholarship: Andrew Cores Family Law Group wants to assist law students with their expenses for school and is offering a student $2000. 3.0 GPA or higher and a video of 3-5 minutes are required to apply to the scholarship. Deadline is September 18.  

  5. The Nancy E. O’Malley Scholarship: In honor of CWL Past President, Nancy O’Malley who promoted women lawyers in support of women and children is offering a scholarship amount of $7,500 to one law student. To apply, you must have experience and future plans on committing to issues relating to children and women. Must be a part of CWL and submit a variety of materials including a personal statement, letters of recommendation and more that are due September 27.

  6. The Albers-Alexander LGBTQ Law Scholarship Fund: Awarding up to $10,000, The Albers-Alexander LGBTQ Law Schoalrship hopes to support law students of the LGBTQ community who have faced many challenges and barriers. The applicant must have demonstrated leadership and involvement in the community. The deadline to submit is September 27. 

  7. The Honorable Arlander Keys Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to second and third year law students who are in underrepresented communities in need of financial support. Requirements include a 5-10 page writing sample, a one page statement of focus on civility and diversity. Applications are accepted through September 27. 

  8. 2024 Share the Road Scholarship:  Velero Law Group Injury Lawyers work to help those who suffer from accidents and injuries as well as making roads safer for everyone. To do this, they are providing a scholarship of $1000 to a student who is committed to help prevent accidents. This is good for students who are looking to work as an injury lawyer. Deadline to apply is September 30. 

    Applying to as many scholarships as you can allows a high chance for you to get awarded! We hope this list of scholarship opportunities supports your financial challenges in law school.
